We invite you to participate in the Workshop on Economy and Management of Popular Culture that will take place on November 2 and 3, 2022, at the Universidad Tecnológica Bolívar (Cartagena de Indias, Colombia). The workshop is organized by the Escuela Universitaria de Osuna, the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali (Colombia) and the Universidad Tecnológica Bolívar (Colombia), with the collaboration of Banco de la República de Colombia.
Popular culture contributes to the community sense of belonging and their territorial identity. The WPCEM aims to discuss contributions from academic research and, also, from the management and experience of different agents in the value chain, for the strenghtening of local and popular culture rooted in the territories. Applied to a broad spectrum of sectors (intangible heritage, artistic performances and celebrations, visual arts and crafts, books and press, audiovisual and interactive media, design and creative services) and topics (economic impact studies, population participation, labour markets, digitization and technological change, intellectual property, organization and logistics, management and funding of events).
Both theoretical and empirical papers will be accepted, admitting, in this case, contributions with both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The working languages will be Spanish and English. Each paper will be allotted between 20 and 25 minutes, during which the authors will present it, followed by comments by a rapporteur and a general discussion.
